Friends of the Library Book Sales

intro banner

The Friends of the Oakville Public Library holds book sales throughout the year.

Thousands of donated titles spanning all genres are offered for purchase. These sales have generated thousands of dollars that have supported numerous library programs and services. As a volunteer organization, we advocate for a sustainable environment, and friendly and affordable access to book ownership to continue to encourage literacy. Your participation continues to support us in reaching our goals. The proceeds from book sales help OPL to expand library services, programs and spaces.

The FOL are a committee of dedicated, talented volunteers who believe in the value of a strong public library in our community, support the library’s vision, mission and values and contribute to their community through volunteerism.

Can I volunteer for the book sale?
Our book sale and committee volunteers are book lovers, library supporters, and community members who enjoy getting out for a fulfilling volunteer experience. If that sounds like you, visit our Friends of the Oakville Public Library page and view available options.

Does the FOL sell donated books at OPL Branches?
Yes! Friendly Finds, which are gently used materials – books, audio books and audio-visual materials, in great condition, are available for sale at all OPL branches.
