Ready. Set. Discover!

Summer is fast approaching! Oakville Public Library is excited to offer programs, activities, and collections that will ensure a summer filled with discovery, wonder, and engagement.  With programs for Children, Teens and Adults – the library is the place for the whole family to learn, explore and have fun.

This challenge runs from June 24 to August 31, 2023.

Summer reading is your path to amazing discoveries!

The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories and is designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way – the key to building a lifelong love of reading. This summer you choose what and how much you want to read!

Stop the summer slide!

Studies show that kids who keep reading all summer do better when they return to school in the fall. The TD Summer Reading Club is a great way to build excitement about reading for fun and keep their skills sharp. Prevent the ‘summer slide’ by encouraging your child to read over the summer with TD Summer Reading Club’s challenges, games, and prizes.

How to Participate:

  1. Drop into any branch of the Oakville Public Library to register and pick up your TD Summer Reading Club 2023 Notebook

  2. Set your reading goal – Set a goal that works for you! You can choose a goal that reflects the number of books you want to read, the number of minutes you want to read each day, the total number of hours you want to spend reading this summer, a series you want to complete, or every book ever written by an author you love!

  3. Track your reading – your TD Summer Reading Club notebook is the perfect place to keep track of your reading!

  4. Come on back to the branch – bring your notebook, tell us about your reading, and collect your prizes!
