OPL Picks for You will keep you reading more of the books you love. Submit a request and our knowledgeable OPL staff (our resident booklovers) will find your next great book!
How to submit a request:
- Tell us your reading preferences through our online form (Kids or Adult)
- OPL staff will select the best reading picks for you through your choice of:
- A hand selected bag of one (1) to five (5) books
- A booklist of 8 recommendations
- Get your new books on the holds shelves in branch
Materials are available in the following formats:
- Regular print
- Large print
- Audiobooks on CD
- Graphica

Whether it's enchanting fairy tales, brave superheros, or silly school stories that keep your kids reading, challenge OPL staff find more of what they love!
Answer a short questionnaire regarding reading levels and preferences then let our staff do the rest. We'll find the best fit to keep your kids reading exciting hand picked stories.
OPL Picks for You Teens
Save some time and let our library staff put together a booklist or book bag you will love! Share your reading preferences through this short questionnaire, and OPL staff will pull a bag of titles for you to pick-up and explore!
OPL Picks for You Adult
Describe your reading preferences to our staff through our online form. You will have the choice to describe the types of reading you enjoy through a quick survey, giving us as much information as you prefer!
Staff will create your choice of a bag of hand selected available materials, or a reading list of 8 recommended titles.
Currently we offer picks for readers of adult fiction and non-fiction in all genres.
Novelist
Learn more about your own reading preferences through Novelist Plus. Novelist Plus is an online database of book recommendations. Log in with your Oakville Public Library card and browse based on author, subject, genre, and many other appeal factors.Subscribe to our eNewsletter and follow us on social media platforms for upcoming Picks for You services for additional materials such as DVDs and Young Adult (YA) .
