Delivery Service

Life circumstances may mean you are unable to come into the library in person. If so, you may be eligible for OPL’s Delivery by Mail option. Each month, qualifying customers may receive up to two (2) packages containing a maximum of two (2) items.

Contact us by email or contact your local branch to find out if you or your loved one qualifies for this service.

Connection Kits

OPL is now offering two types of connection kits. These kits are to help Oakville residents who are 55+ and do not have access to the internet or technology stay connected with friends and family. In addition, those with print disabilities can use the kits to access alternate formats of reading material.To learn more, please contact your local branch.

MagnusCards

The MagnusCards app is designed to help individuals with autism or other special needs interact independently and with confidence in the Oakville community. Users can follow guides to library services by downloading the app for free through the App Store or on Google Play.

Reading Aids

SmartView

SmartView is a magnifier which enhances all reading materials, including magazines, newspapers, photographs, and more. It is available at Woodside Branch. Please call ahead at the Woodside Branch, 905-815-2036 to make arrangements to use.

ZoomText

ZoomText is screen magnification software that allows you to view the library catalogue and the internet in large print. Available at the Central Branch and Woodside Branch. Please call ahead at the Woodside Branch, 905-815-2036 to make arrangements to use.

Kurzweil Reading Machines

Kurzweil Reading Machines are computers equipped with scanners and specialized software. They allow you to scan printed material, magnify it on the screen, and then have the text read aloud to you. Available at Central Branch, and Woodside Branch. Please call ahead at the Woodside Branch, 905-815-2036 to make arrangements to use.
