Oakville Public Library (OPL) offers a variety of reservable spaces to meet your needs, whether you're seeking a quiet study area or hosting a larger event.
Types of spaces available
Complimentary Work/Study Spaces
Ideal for individuals or small groups (up to 8 people) looking for a quiet environment for study, work, virtual meetings, or online exams.
- Cost: Free of charge
- Booking Window: Reserve up to 1 day (24 hours) in advance
- Duration: 1-hour sessions, up to 2 hours per day
- Availability: First-come, first-served; no staff approval required
- Requirements:
- Valid Oakville Public Library card
- Acceptance of OPL’s Terms of Use
- Users must be 14 years of age or older
Paid Room Rentals
Suitable for larger groups, events, or meetings requiring extended timeframes.
- Cost: Fees apply (see rate details below)
- Booking Window: Reserve between 7 days and 2.5 months in advance
- Duration: Minimum of 1 hour; all bookings must end 30 minutes before branch closing
- Availability: Subject to staff approval
- Requirements:
- Acceptance of OPL’s Terms of Use and Library Space Booking Policy
- Full payment upon approval
- Proof of insurance, if applicable
- Proof of non-profit status, if applicable

Meeting Room Rentals – Large
- Hourly – Regular: $35.61
- Hourly – Non-profit: $23.15
Meeting Room Rentals – Small to Medium
- Hourly – Regular: $23.40
- Hourly – Non-profit: $15.21
After-Hours Facilities Coverage
- Per half hour: $31.88
- Per hour: $63.76
Regular and Non-Profit Rates
Corporate, individual and unregistered associations and organizations will be charged the regular rate. Registered not-for-profits or charitable organizations will be charged the discounted rate upon receipt of proof (i.e. current tax returns, constitution or registered charitable number), as outlined in the contract and with approval from Oakville Public Library.

All room rentals include:
- Tables and chairs
- Public Wi-Fi
Some rooms have additional resources, which vary by location:
- Whiteboards
- Retractable screens
- HDTVs or projectors (where available)
There is no additional charge for these resources.
Cancellations
- Administrative Fee: A $15 fee applies to cancellations or changes for approved paid room rentals
- Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled booking
- How to Cancel: Use the “Manage My Reservations” feature or contact your branch
