Loanable laptops are available to book as an alternative to the Public Access Computers. Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis to be used in-branch.
The Wi-Fi Hotspots Lending Program allows any adult cardholder (18 years of age and older) or who self-identifies as not having access to internet to borrow a Wi-Fi Hotspot for up to one week at a time.
Visit one of our branches and speak to a staff member at the customer service desk. Wi-Fi Hotspots are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be placed on hold. Wi-Fi Hotspots can be borrowed for up to one week (7 days) at a time and cannot be renewed.
OPL is now offering two types of connection kits. These kits are to help Oakville residents who are 55+ and do not have access to the internet or technology stay connected with friends and family. Borrow one of our Tinker Toys which promote STEAM-based learning through play. At select branches, kids can sign out toys like a Code-A-Pillar, Ozobot, Cubelets, Snap Circuits and more to play with in-branch. Tinker Toys may be signed out for two hours.
