OPL launches a Cognitive Care Kits collection to support those with dementia
Alzheimer Society of Canada estimates that 733,040 people in Canada are currently living with dementia, and every day more than 350 people in Canada develop dementia.
Launching May 2, OPL now offers Cognitive Care Kits available to borrow.
We created a collection of Cognitive Care Kits for those living with dementia or those in need of cognitive support. Each kit is designed to promote cognitive function using games, puzzles, memory activities and sensory supports. Cognitive Care Kits engage people in activities that are aimed at stimulating the brain while fostering social connection with others. Caregivers can choose from early, mid, or late-stage kits.

A special thanks to Acclaim Health for helping bring these kits to the OPL community.
Cognitive Care Kits are part of the library's Loanable Kits category, where OPL cardholders can access, for fre, a variety of special collections and kits. Learn more at opl.ca/LoanableKits.
