Remembrance Day and Veterans Week
Lest we forget

From November 5-11, Canadians are encouraged to remember and honour the sacrifices of the many who have fallen in service of their country and acknowledge the courage of those who continue to serve.
How can you take part?
-
Wear a poppy. Poppies are worn as the symbol of remembrance, and a reminder of the blood-red flower that still grows on the former battlefields of France and Belgium.
-
Observe two minutes of silence on November 11 at 11am wherever you may be located at the time. All Oakville Public Library branches will observe two minutes of silence as we honour all Canadian service members – past, present, and fallen.
