New Sixteen Mile Branch Opens March 31

Sixteen Mile Branch is moving into a new, modern library space at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex to better serve our growing community.

Friday, March 13

Tuesday, March 31

Get hands‑on in our Creation Zone, where big ideas turn into real projects, or simply enjoy a quiet corner to study with no expectations attached. Oakville Public Library is excited to share the Multisensory Room at Woodside Branch. This new service aims to provide a comfortable and inclusive environment for individuals of all ages. We are honoured to offer an alternative space that acknowledges and respects the unique needs of many library customers.

Canada Reads

Canada Reads returns as five Canadian personalities each champion a book they believe deserves the country’s spotlight. Ahead of the debates, the longlist offers a vivid snapshot of the country’s literary range. Together, these selections show how widely Canadian writers are exploring identity, imagination and the many ways stories reflect the country’s shifting cultural landscape.

World Down Syndrome Day

Every year, World Down Syndrome Day falls on Saturday, March 21st. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of people with Down syndrome as well as to promote inclusion and understanding.  On World Down Syndrome Day people are encouraged to Rock their Socks by wearing colorful, mismatched socks. Join OPL by rocking your socks on March 21st!
