Ontario Public Library Week

Welcome to one of our favourite times of year - Ontario Public Library Week!

πŸ“š 2.6+ million items borrowed
πŸ›οΈ 1.2+ million visitors
πŸŽ‰ 16,000+ new cardholders
πŸ“… 4,000+ programs with over 63,000 attendees

That's Oakville Public Library's impact just last year! And we’re not alone, libraries all over Ontario are enriching their communities too. This October, Oakville Public Library is proud to celebrate the theme “Libraries for Life” as we recognize the enduring impact libraries have on individuals and communities. This year is extra special as we mark 130 years of serving Oakville!

Whether it’s learning digital skills, joining a book club, accessing free Wi-Fi, or finding a quiet space to reflect, libraries grow with us, offering support, stories, and opportunities at every stage of life.

How can you celebrate?

1. Share your story:

Visit any OPL branch and look for our Story Collection Cards! Fill one out and help us build a collective legacy of library love. Whether it’s a memory, a moment, or a meaningful experience, we want to hear from you.
