Friends of Oakville Public Library is a dedicated volunteer committee that operates multiple book sales annually.

- All book sales are open to the public.
Price List
- Buy 1 tote bag and fill for $15
- Buy 2 tote bags and fill for $25
- Refill a FOL tote bag for $10
- All books: 2 for $2
- DVD, VHS & CDs: 10 for $2
For all individual item purchases, please bring your own bag(s).
All pricing is in Canadian dollars.

Book Sale FAQs
What types of books are offered at the book sale?
Books and audiovisual (DVD, VHS, CDs, etc.) materials from all genres are offered at the book sales. Books are restocked daily – so make sure to visit multiple days.
Are the book sales open to the public?
Yes! All book sales are open to the public.
Can I donate books and materials for the sale?
Yes! Donations are accepted year-round only at Oakville Public Library Central Branch. Visit our Book Donation page to learn more.
Can I volunteer for the book sale?
Yes! Friends of the Library is not currently accepting committee volunteer applications. However, volunteer opportunities for adults (age 18 and above) and teens (age 14 and above) are posted prior to each book sale. Responsibilities include event setup & teardown and operating the check-out desk. Create a volunteer profile to apply:
Does the Friends of OPL run popup book sales?
Yes – look for us at community events in Oakville and stay tuned to our social channels and weekly newsletter for announcements.
Are there books available for purchase at other times throughout the year?
Yes! Friendly Finds, which are handpicked and gently used books and audiovisual materials, are available for purchase at all OPL branches.
