Thank You, Amica Glen Abbey!

A Season of Connection and Enrichment

This past winter and spring, the Oakville Public Library (OPL) brought new energy to a well-loved tradition, thanks to a generous $5,000 sponsorship from Amica Senior Lifestyles, Glen Abbey. More than 120 readers participated in an enhanced Adult Book Club program that encouraged thoughtful conversation, fostered new connections, and celebrated the joy of reading together. Sessions were held between January and April 2025.

“This was the best book club session I’ve attended. Having the books provided and meeting the author made it truly special,” said one participant.

The sponsorship provided an opportunity for a unique collaboration to a familiar library offering, making the sessions more accessible and welcoming. Amica Glen Abbey’s support was highlighted in promotional materials and acknowledged at each gathering, reflecting their involvement in the Oakville community and their interest in supporting local initiatives.

With a strong 75 percent attendance rate over four months and enthusiastic feedback from participants, the Adult Book Club series was a clear success. The program showed how partnerships between public and private organizations can enrich everyday experiences and bring people together through shared interests.

OPL extends its sincere thanks to Amica Glen Abbey and looks forward to future opportunities to promote literacy, encourage community engagement, and continue building connections through reading.
