February 7: Central Branch is closed due to significant water damage from a burst pipe. This incident has impacted our public spaces and requires us to close to the public for maintenance.

For updates on when Central Branch will reopen and impacts to service, information will be posted on our website at opl.ca. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Service Impacts

Library hold pickups and returns

Customers with library holds ready for pick-up from Central Branch, your library items will be moved to Woodside Branch, and can be picked up starting with Wednesday, February 8th. Please check your library account as some due dates will be extended.

 
Due dates for library items that were borrowed by customers who have Central Branch as their home branch will also be extended by 7 days. This will come into effect on Monday, February 6th.
 
If you have any library materials due soon, you can return them at any of our other locations and/or OPL Express locations check hours of operation at opl.ca/locations.

Returns at Central Branch - Changes

The return drop box at the Water Street entrance is closed. The return book drop at Navy Street entrance remains open. Library materials can also be returned at any of our other locations and/or OPL Express locations. Check hours of operation at opl.ca/locations.

Room Rentals

Room rental bookings are unavailable until further notice.

Exam Proctoring

Exam proctoring services at Central Branch are closed until further notice.
