Friends of the Library Book Sale is back!

Join us October 26-29 at Central Branch

The days are getting shorter and the evenings colder which means… it’s cozy-curl-up-with-a-book season! And what better place to get your books then the Friends of the Library (FOL) fall book sale!

Join us from October 26 to 29 for our seasonal book sale where you can browse and buy thousands of gently loved books and audiovisual materials looking for a new home.

In June 2022, the Friends of the Library book sale returned in-person and was a huge success! We look forward to seeing you again.

We continue to advocate for a sustainable, environment-friendly and affordable access to book ownership to continue to encourage literacy. Your participation continues to support us to reach our goals. The proceeds from book sales help OPL to expand library services and create a welcoming space to all members of our community.

Sale Dates

  • Wednesday, October 26, 2022 – 1 pm to 7 pm

  • Thursday, October 27, 2022 – 1 pm to 7 pm

  • Friday, October 28, 2022 – 11 am to 4 pm

  • Saturday, October 29, 2022 – 11 am to 4 pm

Oakville Public Library Central Branch Auditorium, 120 Navy St, Oakville

What to Expect

  • Buy and fill an FOL Bag - $15 or 2 for $25

  • ​Bring your own FOL bag - Fill for $10

  • If you are purchasing individually priced items, please bring your own shopping bags.

  • Books will not be sold by weight, but will be individually priced based on category

    • Hardcover/Softcover Books - $2 each

    • Audiovisual (DVD, VHS, CD, etc.) – 10 for $2

    • Children Picture Books – 5 for $2

  • Contactless payment is available with TipTap using your debit card/Interac, credit cards: Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and mobile phone wallets including “GooglePay and ApplePay”

  • We will also accept cash but exact change is highly recommended.
