Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week 2022 with OPL
Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW) runs from October 16 to 22, 2022, and is an annual commemoration to raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in the lives of people in Ontario.
Inspire. Connect. Create. Learn. These four words capture this year’s inspiration for celebrating OPLW, rooted in OPL's vision and mission to connect people to what inspires them by bringing together people, information and ideas to enrich lives and build healthy communities. OPL’s staff, volunteers and community partners work tirelessly to serve the Oakville community, and we hope to showcase some of those stories and services unique to OPL.
For over 125 years, Oakville Public Library (OPL) has built community connections, and our values of fostering discovery, creativity and providing access to literacy and information still hold as true today as they did upon its inception. Libraries continue to be a transformative force within our communities—we shape, impact and enrich the lives of hundreds of Oakville residents each and every day.
Head to our social media pages on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter from October 16 to 22, for our daily features.
If you have a library story of your own to share, send us an email at oplmarketing@oakville.ca with the subject line "Library Story," or tag us on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #OakvilleLibrary.
