Ontario Public Library Week

Oakville Public Library is also excited to celebrate Ontario Public Library Week! This year’s theme, Libraries for Life, highlights the lifelong impact libraries have in our communities.

From digital literacy programs and book clubs to free Wi-Fi access and quiet spaces for reflection, libraries grow and evolve with us. They offer support, stories, and opportunities at every stage of life.

Did you know that 56% of Oakville households have an OPL card?  Here’s a look at what our community accomplished together last year:

  • Over 2.6 million items borrowed
  • More than 1.2 million visitors across OPL branches
  • 16,000+ new cardholders joined OPL
  • Nearly 4,000 programs hosted for all ages with over 63k attendance!

Thanksgiving Closure

All Oakville Public Library Branches will be closed on Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Remember that your library is always open digitally - explore our online resources and download ebooks and audiobooks using CloudLibrary or Hoopla. Read magazines and newspapers on PressReader or practice your language skills on Mango Languages – all for free with your OPL card!
