Open House Sessions Held
After gathering community input during the 2024 open houses, OPL released a concept design shaped by that feedback. Community members were invited to explore the design and connect with the architects and library leadership to see how the project was taking shape.

Concept Design of New Central Library Released
Oakville Public Library has released the first conceptual design for the New Central Library. Architects Perkins&Will, in collaboration with Smoke Architecture, created a design that is inspired by the building’s unique location at Sixteen Mile Creek and the site’s history as a place of connection and exchange. The library is envisioned as a civic gathering place where people, knowledge, and nature intersect, flowing between indoor and outdoor spaces that invite all generations and cultures.
The conceptual design and project timelines were first reviewed by Town Council on February 23, 2026, followed by a presentation to the Library Board on April 16, 2026.
