Enjoy Family Day with OPL!

It’s time for Monday Fun-day family fun! Here are ways you can enjoy Family Day on Monday, February 21, courtesy of your library.

Go on a Family Scavenger Hunt 

Have a family adventure with our Family Day Scavenger Hunt. Complete 10 activities and submit the completed scavenger hunt to your local branch or scan and email to oplprograms@oakville.ca by Tuesday, March 1. Once submitted you’ll be entered in a draw prize* for a personalized engraved cutting board or plaque created in OPL’s Creation Zone
 
As a bonus activity share a picture with us on social media (Instagram, Twitter or Facebook) of your fun day and tag @oakville.library and use #OPLFamilyDay. 
 
*Must be an Oakville resident with an Oakville Library Card to redeem the prize. Contest and Lotteries Policy applies.

Get crafting with an OPL Craft Bag

Craft the holiday with your family! Grab your FREE Craft Bags for Kids available at Woodside and Glen Abbey branches. Available for pickup beginning Monday, February 14 on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Find a branch near you

Go on a StoryWalk®

Enjoy the outdoors on one of OPL’s self-guided StoryWalks® with selected stories. Available at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, Tannery and Waterworks Parks and George Savage Park. The stories change seasonally. This initiative is in partnership with the Town of Oakville, and funded by The Canada Healthy Communities Initiative from the Government of Canada. Learn more

Join the Winter Reading Challenge

If you haven't already joined, then it's time to pick a book, find a cozy spot and read away the winter chills - a perfect activity for Family Day! When you join the challenge the more books you read, the more chance you have to win* great prizes! Plus, we'll have fun activities along the way to help you earn bonus badges and prize entries. The challenge runs until February 28 and all ages are welcome to join. Learn more and download your reading tracker

Branch Hours for Family Day 

Glen Abbey and Iroquois Ridge branches are open for Family Day, from 9:30 am to 5 pm. All other OPL branches, and OPL Expreess at St. Luke's Community Centre will be closed. OPL Express at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex will be operating under regular hours, open from 7 am to 9 pm. The OPL Express location within the Queen Elizabeth Cultural and Community Centre will be operating under modified hours for the day, open from 10 am to 2 pm.
