Early Years

Children develop the skills they need to read years before they start school. As a parent or caregiver, you are your child's first and best teacher. At Oakville Public Library, parents and caregivers can find materials, programs and events for children of all ages.

Every Child Ready to Read

OPL is dedicated to the principles of Every Child Ready to Read, an initiative to help parents and caregivers develop early literacy skills in children from birth to age five, with collections, programs, and resources.
